Our Story
ECCTC is a non-profit organization called Early Childhood Consumer Education and Technical Assistance Center and was established in January 2021 to provide essential early childhood resources to families, early childhood professionals, and employers in 11 Central Southern Kentucky.
The service region includes the following counties: Madison, Estill, Powell, Jackson, Rockcastle, Boyle, Lincoln, Garrard, Pulaski, Casey, and Laurel.

As a local Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R)agency, we understand the importance of quality early learning experiences for all children and their families and strive to provide resources and assistance to enhance our early childhood environments to these communities.
We also know the critical role quality child care plays in boosting the region’s economy and the future of each community that we serve. We strive to provide a collaborative partnership with community leaders and employers in these counties to increase workforce development and community supports for families and children.
We aim to educate and bring awareness to not only early childhood professionals on the importance of early education but to our community leaders, families, and employers by providing training, resources, and partnerships that build supports for our community as a whole.

Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the trainings are supported through grants and generous sponsors. These trainings may be at a discounted rate or free. This information will be noted in the description of the training.
If you are employed at a Type I or Type II child care center, you must obtain 15 hours of approved child care training annually. If your program is on the All-STARS QRIS program, you may be required to receive more hours. Certified family child care home providers are required to obtain 9 hours of approved training annually as well as extra hours if you are looking to go higher in All-STARS.
Yes. The deadline for registrations for all of ECCTC workshops is at 12 am the Sunday before the training. This will allow us to ensure that we have enough materials for all participants.
ECCTC staff will record all training credits in Training Record Information System (TRIS) within 10 days of the training. TRIS is the state-wide system designed to store and maintain individual training records for all early care and education professionals in the state of Kentucky.
Yes, but we ask that you give at least 24-hour notice so we are able to make the substitution in ECE-TRIS.
No, ECCTC does not offer refunds but we will hold that credit to be used at a future date if cancellation is made on the Sunday at midnight before the training. Please note that no refunds will be issued. All credits must be used by December 31 of the current year. If fewer than 10 participants are registered to attend a workshop, ECCTC may choose to reschedule or cancel. Participants will be notified of the cancellation and given the option to attend another class, attend the rescheduled class, or credit will be issued.
Our workshops are designed for early childhood professionals. We are unable to accommodate children or other unregistered participants during our workshops.
ECCTC at this time does not offer CEU’s. If this is a prevalent request, we may look into providing CEU’s in the future.
